What the italian name for coin and whats the names for the coinf of the trevi fountain?
The Italian name fo the coin that tourists through into the Trevi fountain is 'monetina' or even better, in our slang, 'soldo'.

The lyric of the famous Italian song Arrivederci Roma (Good bye Rome) read :

.....e mentre il soldo bacia il Fontanone ....

.....and while the coin kisses the big fountain....

(Fontanone is how is called the Trevi's Fountain by residents)

However 'moneta' is the standard Italian for coin (let's say a value of 鈧?2, 鈧?1, 鈧?0,50) while we call 'monetina' a coin of a lower value ( as 鈧?0,20 - 鈧?0,10 - 鈧?0,05 and less).

You can see all of them throught into the Fountain....

.....depending on the visitors' budget !!
