I know my spelling is off, but it is an italian last name and it's fairly long.
Does anyone know how to spell the italian last name cannestrossi, or something like that?
That name doesn't pop up in the GENS website, who has by far the most complete databese of Italian last names. However a search for "Canestracci" (which is the closest sounding name) finds some people with that name living around Pavia, in Lombardy.
Reply:If you mean the pronounciation Cannestrossi must be pronounced this way:
"Cann" like in "cunning" + "es" like in "established"+"tr" like in the american form of "through"+"os" like in the Spanish "nos"+"si" like in "similar"
Reply:There are many possibilities, but this site should help!
It lists almost every Italian last name, starting with "cam" to "cap".
