Can I travel with an Italian Passport with my maiden name although all other documents have my married name?

Just renewed my Italian Passport and it now has my maiden name on, although I have been known by and use my married name for the past 35 years. Will this be a problem to travel to the USA, when all my other documents (travel tickets, bank cards etc) have my married name on? Thanks,

You can bring along with you your marriage certificate to show the transition from your maiden name to married name. This is what is done by newly married foreign spouses.I would advise you though to try to amend your passport to your married name to avoid any more delays.
Reply:When the Italian Family Law was revised in the 1970s, the principle of equality between both spouses was upheld. Therefore the wife doesn't acquire the husband's family name like it was before, but can have it added to her own.

Passports of married Italian women usually specify both their maiden name and the married name (e.g.: "Francesca BIANCHI in SMITH"). If yours doesn't, you must ask to have it amended to avoid problems with air tickets and other issues.
Reply:Absolutely a big problem! Why does your renewed passport now have your maiden name when all your other ID uses your married name? Go back to the Italian passport officials and get your passport in your married name, assuming you are still married. If you are no longer married and have legally resumed your maiden name, then you have to change all of your other ID, credit cards, bank accounts, etc.
Reply:My wife had a passport from her country with her maiden name on it. He country does not allow a name change. Her passport will always have her maiden name on it. It is now a little trickier as her US passport is in her married name and her other passport is in her maiden name. Hasn't stopped her yet! Never had a problem with it while traveling! If possible get it changed. As stated earlier tickets have to match so call the airlines. Good Luck!
Reply:your name and family name must be correct. no one bother maiden. maiden name is not your first or last name. you can not use your ticket if name does not match with your passport.
Reply:Your passport name MUST match the name on your plane tickets, or you will not be allowed into the country! Get a new passport with the right name!
