Italian Christmas cake, layered, name please?

ok so i was watching taste last night and there was this italian christmas cake. you cook a chocolate cake, cut it in thin layers to line a bowl or mold with and use a mixture of cream, chopped almonds chocolate and cherry's with a drink beginning with z. also you use a lot of brandy. can anyone think of the name?

My mom makes it with different ingredients (hers is based on coffee), but I'm pretty positive the name depends on the shape (that of a bowl upside-down) rather than what it's made with.
