Do Italian Dudes Name their kids Ferrari?

Do people in Italy name their kids Ferrari?

What I'm really asking is if Ferrari is an Italian baby name.

Do Italian Dudes Name their kids Ferrari?
Nah. In Italy we are not as "free" with names as in other states, and "original" names are often illegal. An Italian couple wanted to name their kid Venerd铆 (Friday) and they were taken to court, and prohibited to do so by a judge. the same thing happened a few years ago to some guy who wanted to name his newborn "Varenne" (the name of a racing horse he'd bet on, and won a lot of money).

Ferrari, however, is a quite common surname (family name). And the Ferrari brand comes, in fact, from the surname of his founder (Enzo Ferrari).

A lot of Italian surnames originated (in medieval times, if I'm not mistaken) from ancient professions. Since "ferro" means "iron" in Italian, probably the first bearers of this surname were blacksmiths.
Reply:no .. ferrari is the name of a car. im italian and ive never heard of italians naming their kids ferrari.. i guess you could but people don't necessarily name their kids that just cause their italian.
Reply:ferrari is a family name. i would not expect italians, unless related to a ferrari, to use it as a given name.
Reply:IT IS NOT A NAME IS A LAST NAME

AND IT IS ITALIAN

MY FRINDS UNCLES LAST NAME IS FERRARI AND HE OWES THE FERRARI CAR DILER IN BEVERLY HILLS
Reply:As a last name, maybe. But as a first name, even they know that is stupid.
