What is the name of the seed used to season most Italian dishes such as pizza and spaghetti? ?

I can't remember the name of it, but it's a seasoning. It's green with like yellow stripes.





I want to make my won pizza sauce and want to add this ingredient, but don't know the name of it.

Reply:Fennel, this is the seed. Oregano, Rosemary, Basil are herbs and can be used also.
Reply:If it's a seed, it's fennel. It's often used in italian sausage and some people add it to spaghetti sauce.
